Hi Peter,

In order to supply the i.MX8QM, you need 2 PMICs as in Figure 1 of the PF8100/8200 datasheet, this is why we recommend the MC33PF8200DBES and the MC33PF8200ESES for this case, both with different preprogrammed voltage rails and sequences to be able to supply all the rails required by the i.MX8QM.

The difference between the MC33PF8200DBES and the MC33PF8200ESES is the preprogrammed voltage rails and turn-on sequence of the regulators.

You can find detailed information about the voltage level and sequence of these preprogrammed options in the following links:

MC33PF8200DBES: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/supporting-information/R_PF8200DB.PDF?tid=MC33PF8200DBES-OTP-Report

MC33PF8200ESES: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/supporting-information/R_PF8200ES.PDF?tid=MC33PF8200ESES-OTP-Report

Have a great day,
Jose

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note:
- If this post answers your question, please click the "Mark Correct" button.
Which specific PF8200 part?

Hi, currently designing a new product using the i.MX8QM. So from what I can see, I need 2 of the PF8200 PMICs. I am not sure the difference between these two parts though which I have narrowed it down to:

MC33PF8200DBES

Automotive

i.MX8QM

LPDDR4 memory PMIC2

ASIL B

MC33PF8200ESES

Automotive

i.MX8QM

LPDDR4 memory PMIC1

ASIL B

We will be using 4GB of LPDDR4 memory if I can actually find some (proving difficult!). Can you please clarify the difference between the 2 parts above?
Regards,

Peter
