The 24 V is the stable output from the SMPS power supply for the first step test. However, the real system will be replaced with a battery one. I would like to confirm which supply voltage range is most suitable for the GD3160.

Since the device includes an internal regulator from VSUP to 5 V, operating at 24 V will result in higher power dissipation compared to 12 V due to the larger voltage drop across the internal regulator.

Could you please confirm whether using 24 V as VSUP is acceptable from a thermal and reliability standpoint, or if 12 V would be a better operating condition for this device?

Hello, I buy and use the GD3160, I used to design with 24V support for pin Vsup. Somehow, it is should recommend 12V support; it is better than 24V, right? Can you explain which one is better? Since this IC allows support up to 40V.

Hi

Your 24V input is stable value or typical value when you use GD3160?

It can be used in 24V but as you said 12V is more suitable.
