Where is the so-called FS2630_GUI APPLICATION?

I am trying to fire up a KITFS26AEEVM board. I am completely new to it. I am following the instructions of the attached document.

So far I was able to flash the Freedom board.

Now I need to find and upload the file "nxp-gui-fw-frdmkl25z-usb_hid-fs2630_vX.Y.bin", which I haven't been able to find, as per instructions on page 11.

And more importantly, I need to install the FS2630_GUI APPLICATION as per page 13. On that page it is hinted that the version used to make the manual is 3.1.450. The only thing I found is here:

https://www.nxp.com/design/design-center/software/analog-expert-software-and-tools/nxp-gui-for-automotive-pmic-families:PMIC-GUI-SW

Which downloads version 10.0.0 and does NOT look anything like what the manual shows. Version 10.0.0 simply unzips PDF manuals in a Program Files directory. No GUI, no SDK, no IDE. The attached manual came in that installation by the way.

I am wondering if I should instead download and install one of the packages here:

https://www.nxp.com/design/design-center/software/development-software:DEVELOPMENT_TOOLS

But, which?? And, where can I find the aforementioned .bin file that the manual calls for?

This is all BEFORE I even get to play with the analog device I want to evaluate.

Any help or pointing in the right direction will be greatly appreciated. I need both the GUI application and the .bin file.

Thank you!

Excellent, thank you.

UM11812 on page 7 point "4.4 Software" directs me to <http://www.nxp.com/NXP GUI for Automotive PMIC Families> to download what it calls "the software" without further reference or specification. The destination of the link has only one piece of software to download, called "NXP GUI for Automotive PMIC Families" version 10.0, which is described as "APPLICATION EXAMPLE SOFTWARE". This is the software that I downloaded and installed, and all it does is unzip PDF files in a Program Files directory. There is no GUI, no IDE, no SDK, no executable file for that matter.

On page 9 point 5.2, there is a screenshot of the folder I was supposed to find the software, but it does not correspond with the file available in the link. The next screenshot appears to refer to a NXP_GUI 7.1.0, which also does not correspond to the file available for download, which is purported to be 10.0.

UM11812 is a document dated Rev. 3 - 24 July 2024.

UM11503 makes no mention of sotware at all, but it does reference http://www.nxp.com/KITFS26AEEVM. I think it's the same link you kindly provided.

I have been going in circles on these pages, I can't find the software.

Also, I apparently need the file "nxp-gui-fw-frdmkl25z-usb_hid-fs2630_vX.Y.bin" which I can't find either.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the .BIN file!

After downloading version 10.0 and unzipping, I have the following setup folder (screenshot1.jpg):

~\Downloads\NXPGUI_PR_10.0.0\1 - NXP_GUI_Setup

When I run that, it unzips a bunch of files in my c:\Program Files (x86)\NXPGUI (screenshot2.jpg):

C:\Program Files (x86)\NXPGUI

Notice there is NO executable file.

I noticed a shortcut in the Start menu which points to (screenshot3):

"C:\Program Files (x86)\NXPGUI\NXP_GUI.exe"

But that file does not seem to exist.

What may I be doing wrong??

By the way, the installer seems to finish unzipping files and then it ends abruptly. Is that supposed to happen? Or should there be any steps after unzipping?

I have run the installation both as regular user and admin, same result.

IT'S WORKING!

tldr: Installation did not run to completion in Windows 11, but finished with no issue in Windows 10.

I am replying directly on my original post to save everyone the hassle and details of my boring thread. I failed to explain in the original post that I was doing all my shenanigans in a Windows 11 computer. Also, I failed to realize until much later that the installation package for version 10.0 was ending abruptly after unzipping the files, with no sign or confirmation that the installation process had successfully finished and the app was now installed.

After noticing that no mention to Windows 11 was made anywhere, but instead Windows 10 and Windows 7 ( ! ) are called throughout the documentation, I moved to an older Win 10 computer, downloaded the installation file, ran it, and it worked perfectly first try.

I am not sure if the problem was Windows 11 or some other quirk in my regular computer. Maybe some antivirus or something?? But for now it's running and I can use it in my older machine.

Thank you for reading.
