Hello everyone! I am the head of technical support at a gynae hospital. We are using NXP MC33777 Battery Junction Box Monitor IC to monitor the current and voltage of our backup system that supports crucial and essential medical equipment. But we are experiencing issues with it, as there are sudden spikes or drops inaccurately, and it is affecting our monitoring system as it triggers false alarms. Has anyone here experienced these issues with MC33777? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello Emily,

are you using our Evaluation board? EVBMA777T2 or RDA777T2? Or do you have your own design? If your own design, please share your schematic with voltage levels and part values.

With Best Regards,

Thank you for your reply! We are using a custom board in our gynae hospital. The IC is powered with 5V, and we are observing inconsistent readings during load changes. Are there any specific areas I should double-check?

Hello Emily,

please double check if the MC33777 is the component you are talking about. The MC33777 requires minimally 9V. With 5V it will not work at all. Please download and refer to the MC33777 datasheet. The datasheet is available in the MC33777 product page, under the Secure section.

Please note, you need to have a valid NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) with NXP and you need to be registered on the nxp.com to be able to download the datasheet. If you haven't the NDA yet, and you would like to sign one, please create a new ticket here.

With Best Regards,

Jozef
