Hello all,

I am using MC33771 for BMS development, for 16 cell battery.
MC33771 is 14 channel cell controller. Thus using two of them, eight channel from each MC33771 cell controller.

These two MC33771 cell controller will be communicating through SPI with the Master Controller.
Master Controller has two SPI Modules say, SPI A and SPI B,

The question is, is it OK to connect the SPI A of MCU with MC33771 Cell Controller and SPI B of MCU with other MC33771 cell controller.
If it is connected will the battery get shorted in the MCU, because it will be having a common ground for both SPI lines.

Hello Autoven,

Have you considered using two parallel MC33771 devices with the same SPI bus but with different chip selects?

Regards,

David
