MCXN236 not supported in Config Tools..!?

I just downloaded what I believe is the latest MCUXpresso Config Tools 26.06

Using the "Data Manager", downloaded the FRDM-MCXN236 Design Files + the N236 processor files as well

issue: tool says, Device Configuration tool does not support the selected processor. Select a different tool

is there a plan to add N23-series?

MCXN236 is supported in MCUXpresso Config Tools. Support for the MCXN2xx series (including FRDM-MCXN236) was introduced in Config Tools v15 (bundled with MCUXpresso IDE v11.9.0) and continues to be available in the current v26.06.

The error you are seeing is most likely related to how the project was set up. Config Tools needs to be launched from within a proper SDK-based project in order to correctly identify the device and generate initialization code, simply downloading processor data via the Data Manager is not sufficient to enable full tool functionality.

When creating a new configuration in the standalone Config Tools, we recommend selecting a project type that is associated with an SDK or a specific toolchain, rather than a processor-only configuration, to ensure the device is correctly recognized.

Additionally, please note that the standalone Config Tools is not intended for use with MCUXpresso IDE, if your development environment is MCUXpresso IDE, please use the Config Tools that are integrated within MCUXpresso IDE directly. For other supported IDEs such as IAR Embedded Workbench or Keil MDK, the standalone Config Tools is the appropriate choice. If you are using MCUXpresso for VS Code, Config Tools is also built in and does not require the standalone version.

hi, thanks for answer.

first, we use Zephyr, so no need to install MCUXpresso IDE.
seems there are several variants of the pins tools, can you please guide me to which one is the correct installer/app for MCX series.

about the error message, I used this option as I'm using the FRDM kit and wanted its config/schematic wiring
when working on my own board, i will try again the order you mentioned, but I'm pretty sure that error message still shows

Sorry for the late reply. And thanks for you telling me that you are using config tools for Zephyr. Thus you should choose “Create a new configuration for Zephyr RTOS":

The error message you saw was expected. Because config tools only support pin configuration for zephyr.

hi, thanks for great support. but i'm not sure what you mean with

what features are omitted?

i want to ensure clock-config is valid, should I expect these views to be broken?
