Thanks, XianJun, this clears the part about the current DACs.

Hi,

I'm looking for a microcontroller with on-chip IDACs, support for thermoelectric cooler control, on-chip temperature sensing circuits etc., for use as an optical signal processor and controller. Could you suggest some possible NXP microcontrollers/microprocessors?

Thanks,

Sheema

Hi,

I suppose that all the on-chip DACs for MCU are voltage output DAC instead of current output DAC.

For you application of iDAC, you can use on-chip DAC of MCU to output voltage from DAC_OUTPUT pin, then connect the DAC_OUTPUT pin to an external OP AMP and a transistor/MOSFET to output current.

The MCXN fanily has 14 bits resolution on-chip voltage output DAC.

https://www.nxp.com/products/processors-and-microcontrollers/arm-microcontrollers/general-purpose-mcus/mcx-arm-cortex-m/mcx-n-series-microcontrollers:MCX-N-SERIES

The other family, for example LPC84x low cost MCU also has on-chip voltage output DAC.

Hope it can help you

BR
