[LS1046 / Customer Sanmina] OS boot failure

Hi,

Customer has reported that they have 1 unit of LFHP1824-1290 failed at FCT station. We need your help for this analysis. Appreciate your support in this request.

Below are the details of the affected unit:

MPN : LS1046ASE8T1A

Description : IC QORIQ PROCESSOR 4 CORES 780-FCPBGA

Supplier : NXP Semiconductors

Date Code : 2114

Location on Board : U83

Board S/N : SG17KPK013

Fail Station : FCT

Failure Description : Able to load RCW and Uboot, but unable to load OS and boot further.

Read existing content (codes) – store for future reference:

No issue with the code/flash, as the board able to pass all flash partition and functionalities check with new processor.

Reflash and reverify the content (code):

Same code/flash works on a new processor, which means no issue with the code or flash.

Reverify board functionality:

Board functionality good with new processor

Like at what voltage, what temperature, how to translate that the RCW message into failure description.

=> voltage - 3.3V, 1.8V,1.2V

=> room temp

=> Customer: I mentioned RCW just to say that Processor has crossed the initial milestone of booting up using the Uboot from the SPI flash. it got hanged while booting up to the OS from the emmc interface. RCW itself don’t have an error code within it. Need to get NXP to perform their full chip level test and confirm no issues on their side.

Would you please provide the customer's console log to boot OS?

Has the customer used QCVS DDRv tool to connect to the custom board to do optimization and validation?

Please suggest customer customize RCW with LSDK.

Please download the latest LSDK 2108.

$ source setup.env

$ flex-builder -c rcw -m ls1046ardb

Then modify *.rcw in components/firmware/rcw/ls1046ardb/RR_FFSSPPPH_1133_5559/.

Rebuild RCW with the following command and get rcw*.bin in components/firmware/rcw/ls1046ardb/RR_FFSSPPPH_1133_5559/.

$ flex-builder -c rcw -m ls1046ardb
