In SDK 1.7, the file U-boot-spl-pbl.bin is built directly from u-boot source code, you could modify the file board/freescale/ls1021atwr/ls102xa_rcw_sd.cfg.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you use SDK build environment, you could use the following steps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;$ bitbake u-boot -c cleansstate&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Modify the "UBOOT_CONFIG" as "sdcard" in meta-fsl-arm/conf/machine/ls1021atwr.conf.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;$ bitbake u-boot -c patch&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Go to the folder build_ls1021atwr_release/tmp/work/ls1021atwr-fsl-linux-gnueabi/u-boot-ls1/2013.10-r0/git and modify the file board/freescale/ls1021atwr/ls102xa_rcw_sd.cfg.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;$ bitbake u-boot&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;After rebuild u-boot, you will get image u-boot-with-spl-pbl.bin in u-boot source folder.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4.&amp;nbsp; Please check whether it would be helpful to use "nohz=off" Kernel boot parameter to disable dyntick-idle mode.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 10.0pt;"&gt;This boot parameter "nohz=" that can be used to disable dyntick-idle mode in CONFIG_NO_HZ_IDLE=y kernel by specifying "nohz=off". By the default, the system boot with "nohz=on", enabling dyntick-idle mode.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 10.0pt;"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 10.0pt;"&gt;An idle CPU that is not receiving scheduling-clock interrupts is said to be "dyntick-idle".       <title>Problems with SDCARD booting LS1021ATWR</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi, I’m working on LS1021A-Twr hardware using QorIQ SDK-V1.7, according to Ls1021aatwr document SDboot is supported, I’m facing few issues w.r.t SDBOOT.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Following is my set-up description:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;a) Hardware: LS1021A-TWR&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;b) Kernel-3.12.19, u-boot:2014.07&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;c) Booting u-boot,kernel and Rootfs are from the SD-CARD.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;d) Rootfs uses Systemd&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Problem Description:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1) With same kernel,rootfs booting from SDCARD, Audio card is not getting detected in case of u-boot compiled and booted from SDCARD, and is working perfectly with u-boot compiled and booted from NOR: &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sound Log Snippet when u-boot from NOR, Kernel &amp;amp; No soundcards found.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2) Compared the rcw_1000.rcw and rcw_1000_sdboot.rcw important difference seemed to be in LVDD_SEL modified it accordingly but there wasn’t any change.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3) Understood that U-boot-spl-pbl.bin which is used for&amp;nbsp; In SDK 1.7, the file U-boot-spl-pbl.bin is built directly from u-boot source code, you could modify the file board/freescale/ls1021atwr/ls102xa_rcw_sd.cfg.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you use SDK build environment, you could use the following steps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;$ bitbake u-boot -c cleansstate&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Modify the "UBOOT_CONFIG" as "sdcard" in meta-fsl-arm/conf/machine/ls1021atwr.conf.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;$ bitbake u-boot -c patch&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Go to the folder build_ls1021atwr_release/tmp/work/ls1021atwr-fsl-linux-gnueabi/u-boot-ls1/2013.10-r0/git and modify the file board/freescale/ls1021atwr/ls102xa_rcw_sd.cfg.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;$ bitbake u-boot&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;After rebuild u-boot, you will get image u-boot-with-spl-pbl.bin in u-boot source folder.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4.&amp;nbsp; Please check whether it would be helpful to use "nohz=off" Kernel boot parameter to disable dyntick-idle mode.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 10.0pt;"&gt;This boot parameter "nohz=" that can be used to disable dyntick-idle mode in CONFIG_NO_HZ_IDLE=y kernel by specifying "nohz=off".
