Hi,

we are using LS1043A in our application, we are trying to setup the build environment, we would like to know about the build options available, for ex yocto build or SDK availble for this processor, where we can customize it accordding to the board we have.

kindly provide details regarding the yocto or linux build systems and other tools which can be used for development using this ls1043a processor

If you want to use Ubuntu filesystem, you need to use "Layerscape Linux Distribution POC" release, please refer to section "3.5.2 Download Yocto bitbake" in https://www.nxp.com.cn/docs/en/user-guide/UG10081_LLDP_6.1.55_2.2.0.pdf to download the Yocto build environment.

$ repo init -u https://github.com/nxp-qoriq/yocto-sdk -b mickledore -m ls-6.1.55-2.2.0_distro.xml

$ repo sync

$ source ./distro-setup-env -m ls1043ardb

If you only want to use the normal Yocto generated rootfs filesystem, you could download Yocto build environment from the following link.

https://github.com/nxp-qoriq/yocto-sdk

The latest version is YP 5.2-lf-6.12.20.

what is the laytest linux kernel version used in layerscape SDK. i have seen the document you have shared and it is mentioned Kernel v6.1.55. is this is the latest?

we are using pCie in our system as a root complex, does ls1043 running layerscape yocto with Kernel v6.1.55 should be okay to communicate with an FPGA running as Pcie endpoint?

will there be any difficulties? or challenges?

If you want to use Ubuntu filesystem, the latest Linux Kernel version is 6.1.55.

It is OK to use Kernel 6.1.55 to implement your purpose.

RT Patch is not provided in the above release.

Please check whether the following Real-Time Edge Yocto release is what you need.

How to use DMA for the Pcie transfer? using DMA for PCIe interface will subsequently use DDR3/DDR4 which in turn improves performance of PCIE?

How the LS1043A can be Programmed ?

using JTAG?

what is the purpose of JTAG, since there is no controller core in ls1043a

or just create a wic image and write into SD and boot?

is it possible to use JTAG to Transfer image to ls1043a?
