topic PPS output on LS1028ARDB in Layerscape

Hi,

I'm using an LS1028ARDB with Real time edge to perform some synchronization tests on a bunch of devices.

In my configuration, the LS1028ARDB is the gPTP master, while the devices are slaves.

The devices are connected to swp0...3.

I need to measure the real synchronization accuracy by comparing the PPS output of the switch and the devices.

From my understanding, the switch should be able to generate the PPS on connector J12 (the SMA one). However, as it is now, I don't see any signal on such a connector (nor on J11 or J13).

Now, to me is not clear if there are any procedures to enable it. I don't see any specific reference on the Real-time Edge Software User Guide.

The only reference I found is in the Layerscape Software Development Kit User Guide Section 8.7.7.1 PPS signal. I followed the PPS interrupt verification, and everything went smoothly. I would have expected the PPS on J12 when the sync on eno0 is enabled, but nothing.

I also tried "Section 8.7.7.3 Programmable PTP pins" to enable the PPS output from swp0 but I don't get any signal from the SWTICH_1588_DAT0 on J13.

Am I missing something? Is there any procedure for enabling the PPS output synchronized with swp0...3? A PPS output synced with eno0 would be also ok.

Thanks,

Alberto
