Parallel NOR flash Erase Error on LS1020A Custom board

Dear All,

We are working on a custom board which has LS1020A SoC + 128MB Parallel NOR Flash(16Bit). We are in Board BringUp Phase currently and

having issues with Flash Erase while we AND JTAG reset and Power On Reset signals in CPLD.

We are using CodeWarrior 10.0.7 with CodeWarrior USB TAP as JTAG.

I am getting the below error while trying to erase the flash/program when the CPLD logic for JTAG reset and Power On Reset is AND:

Error: Erase failed. Flash driver reports the following error(s): Sector Protection Error

If we make the CPLD logic as "JTAG reset=Power On Reset" then my Flash operations are smooth. i mean Flash erase and program.

I am using Flash Programmer utility of CW and doing unprotect option before erase to makesure we remove the protection of the flash sectors before trying to erase/program.

Any inputs in this regard would be highly appreciated.

Please consider to open a sevice case because this could be a complicated technical issue - refer to the How I could create a Service Request?

What does it mean?

Is the Protection Error present after that?

2) Please provide the design schematics for inspection - consider 1)

Could you also check the initialization of NOR flash.
