Hi @PBouchand,

As mentioned on the System Requirements of the GUI Guider product page, the supported Operating Systems are Windows 11 (64-bit), Ubuntu 24.04 or MacOS 11.6. We do not conduct tests for different distros, which is why we cannot guarantee 100% the proper functionality of the Ubuntu version of GUI Guider on Fedora. That said, since there weren't any changes on the GUI Guider installation on your computer, I would try to see if there was a change in the underlying software, like in the OS itself.

Description:

I'm experiencing a critical issue with GUI Guider on Fedora 41 where the authentication window refuses to close after successful authentication and causes the application to crash.

Environment:

OS: Fedora 41 Workstation
Desktop Environment: GNOME (Wayland/X11)
GUI Guider version: 1.10.0 and 1.10.1
Previously working configuration: Same setup worked perfectly for weeks until this morning

Symptoms:

GUI Guider launches and displays authentication window normally
After entering valid credentials and successful authentication, the authentication window remains open
The authentication window captures and holds input focus, preventing interaction with the main GUI Guider window (if it opens)
Attempting to close the authentication window (clicking X button) closes the entire application instead of just the modal dialog
The main GUI Guider window may be visible in the background but is inaccessible due to the modal authentication window blocking focus
Reproducibility: 100% reproducible on every launch since this morning. The issue appeared suddenly without any system updates or configuration changes on my side.

Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated as this completely blocks my development workflow.

Hello,

I did try with Ubuntu 22.04 and I got the same problem.

I haven't tried yet with Ubuntu 24.

Note that erasing .config/gui-guider, relaunching, authenticating without accepting or rejecting cookies is a workaround.

Have a nice day.

Patrice
