Hello Heather,

SMAC only implements the layer to handle the transceiver it means transmit, receive, change channel, adjust transmitter output power, CCA operation and low power modes. SMAC is intended to provide a communication point to point since it doesn’t implement any networking function like bind, associate, dissociate, addressing, etc. My advice is to use MAC codebase, witch all ready have implement network layer.

Regards,
Adrian

addressing with SMAC?

Hello,
I am using MC13231-SRB and beekit and the SMAC protocol to setup some home-automation type of applications. My question is whether it is possible to do low level addressing using SMAC or if addressing must be done within the data of the sent packet and handled by the higher level code?

Thanks,
Heather
