MC9S08QG8: Setting up basic ADC from external input

Hi. I am having trouble understanding how to implement the ADC registers for a basic ADC I need to perform.

I have a potentiometer which is varying an external voltage of 3V in a potential divider. I need to set up a basic ADC routine to take the external variable and store the value as an integer. The variable will then be used to change the duty cycle of a PWM output I have set up.

Im not looking for code, just a few pointers on what the registers are and how to implement them.
