Building a peer-to-peer 802.15.4 + bandwidth issue

Hello, i have some problems with peer-to-peer network under 802.15.4

I use freescale MAC libraries.

I don't understand how to build a p2p network: using MyStar/MyWireless there is always some PAN coordinator and all messages flow from a device to the coordinator.

Where can i find some source code to start it?

Then: I understood that the 250 kbps bandwidth declared is not realistic. It is like 125 + 125 = 250 kbps.
I found some slides from Freescale that say that. Do you agree with this? I mean: do you agree that the max throughtput is about 125 kbps full-duplex? Has someone tested that?

Please help me with the topic.
I can't build a peer-to-peer network: how can I build a network without coordinator?
I need two devices to communicate without coordinator.
