Hello friends, I have an old board that has the MC68HC11E1CFNE2 microcontroller and I need to connect to the microcontroller. Do you know what tool I need for this operation (Hardware + software)

I am attempting to repair an older PCB which has a MC68HC11E1CFN2 microcontroller, and have determined that it needs to be replaced.

Digikey sells the MC68HC11E1CFNE2, which links to the same datasheet, suggesting it may be the same part, but the "CFNE2" variant isn't listed in the datasheet. I've only been able to pull up PCN's about the E variant, as well. What is the difference between the two? (i.e. I would like to know if it COULD be a drop-in replacement. I'm aware that the device has EEPROM storage).

Thanks,

Glenn
