My last reply got lost.

The MC9S08PL32CLD Mask 4N40C we've got here do not have the pinout of the current data sheet Rev.4 but the pinout of an PA32 or PT32CLD with Vss on 7,8,11,27 and Vdd on 5 and 28. These Pins are connected internally on our PL32CLD so there is no doubt.

Unbelievable...

So we powered the PL32CLD thru his Vdda/Vrefh pin 6 and then over the protection diode, with an 0.8V drop.

MC9S08PL32CLD Mask 4N40C strange issue:

Powered with 5V the port outputs high level is only about 4.2V, even with no load at all.

The mask seems to be quite old, but i can't find any information.

Any suggestions welcome. We bought them at Rochester, obviously old stock.

Joerg from germany

This is weird, normally the output is higher, but this is still under spec.

Can you check if there is not any hardware issue, maybe you have some wrong connection or wrong component

Have a good day

We've got about 4000 here in stock, so this is a severe problem. Luckily its possible to change our board design accordingly. Why did we bought old stock? Because ist so difficult nowadays to get any controllers at all.

But >!please!< can you look for an errata for this mask 4N40C so that we don't run into further issues and don't have to argue with Rochester?

Thank you! Greetings from germany.

We could compare MC9S08PL32CLD mask 4N40C with mask 0N21P and we can confirm:

These two mask sets have different pinouts.
