PAN802154 module bootloader version/type

Hello,

I recently acquired a PAN802154 wireless communication module (GT60 + MC13193) and I would like to write to the flash memory through the bootloader loaded in the MCU (at least I think there is a bootloader). I used the hc08sprg.exe (from AN2295SW) and I get this messages:

The first byte that is received (in the example above it's 4F) is always different every time I try to flash it, the rest are identical.

What am I doing wrong?

OK...apparently there is no bootloader written into it.

I am trying to download the bootloader.s19 to the Panasonic module through a serial cable connected to J2, through the Embedded Bootloader program, but every time, I get a message “progress 0%”, then time out message.

I need your help as soon as possible, it is a matter of time how could I download this bootloader.s19

Hi Mostafa,

This, I think, is the eternal "Catch-22" problem with serial bootloaders.

You need a serial bootloader installed to download via SCI.

If you don't have a serial bootloader installed, you need a BDM adapter to download code (including bootloader code).

If you have a BDM adapter then you probably don't then need a serial bootloader.

thanks alot,

as i know that the bootloader.s19 is not loaded initialy over the pana802154, and i need to load
it through the serial J2 calble, but what i can understand from your words that i must get the
BDM multilink cable, but i have found it's cost is 200$ and it is so expensive for my
acadamic project, so have you got any idea what shall i do?? , plz help me as soon as possible

Hi,

You might be able to use the OSBDM with this board.

What MPU does it have? GT60? MC1319x?

my processor is GT60, and as you have stated that i can use OSBDM
so please can you tell me, how could i use it in steps, what are the components will i need?
what is the schematic of the circuit? , and also how will i interface it to my PC? parallel or serial ?? and how???
i am very new to this topic?? so plz tell me in detailes???

Hi,

The connection of the OSBDM to the PC is USB.

You should be able to find out all about it in the OSBDM forum right here.

The Wiztronics device is just OSBDM AFAIK.

hi, thanks for all your effort
but i just want to summarize the whole story

1- i am working with pana802154 hardware module
2- this module doesn't have any bootlader.s19 over it
3- so i can't use the embedded bootloader program over my PC with the serial connection
4- so i have to use the BDM to download the bootloader or the firmware initialy
5- i am going to use OSBDM (Wiztronics device) http://witztronics.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_18&products_id=31
6- the question here "can i use it(Wiztronics device) with GT60, MC13193 ?" plz anser this by "y/n"
7- i am going to use the OSBDM service pack and patch file to make codewarrior works with (Wiztronics device) can i???.
8- the question also " are there anything else i will need ??" plz answer "y/n"

Yes! you can use an OSBDM with the GT60.

Yes! it is easier if you apply the OSBDM patch to Codewarrior. Be sure to have the latest firmware in the OSBDM. Both things I already linked to.

No! You should not need anything else. USB cable?

The above assumes that the Witztronics device is equivalent to the current OSBDM. You should put these questions direct to them to confirm.

Our WTBDMS08 product supports any of the S08 devices supported by Codewarrior with the exception of the RS08 devices (Freescale removed the internal charge pump used for flash programming).

Also, with the new CW v6.0, OSBDM08 support is now integrated, so you no longer need to install the OSBDM patch.
