I2C and LIN are completely different worlds. Repeaters seem to me out of scope for LIN.

Depending on the baud rate you're working, maybe 4800 bps will work on 40m with almost zero retransmissions on bad BCCs.

Regards,

Celso

I am designing a product based on lin (12v one wire) where the nodes may be 40m apart. My plan is to make each node a repeater, this will also allow me implement Lin Switch Mode Slave Node Position Detection. While bidirectional buffers exist for the 5v I2C world (PCA 9605 etc - perfect) I have been unable to find one for the 12v world of lin. Is there a bidirectional 12v buffer available or how might I implement one?
