topic 68HC705 PLCC44 replacer? in 8-bit Microcontrollers

We have an old design that uses a MC68HC705C8ACFN microcontroller. The firmware really needs an update, but we are using a PLCC44 version of this part and as I see, there is really nothing that can drop down on those pads and be at least electrically comparable on our existing board. Internally, we don't care about code compatibility, if we could get a current generation speed like 20Mhz that would be great! We have an LCD 8 bit parallel port that would need the old part timing but inside it would not matter. Does anyone have any suggestions?
