According to the manual, the chip only comes in LQFP 64. Unfortunately that's how all MCUs look today, the DIP days are over.

A sidenote: if you are developing a brand new product, you shouldn't use an old 68HC08. The S08 is a newer, better MCU and code compatible with 68HC08.

Hello,

A few S08 devices are stil available in DIP packages, mainly for lower pin count packages. The closest to your needs would probably be the S08GT60 or S08GT32, which is available in a 42-pin shrink DIP package. However, this device does not contain EEPROM, and is limited to four TPM channels.

Other S08 devices are available in SOIC packages, up to a maximum of 28 pins.

Regards,

Mac

However if you wanna be attached to that PN, you could use an adapter.

These anything-to-100mils pinhead adapters (one for each side of the package) are still in use for prototypes.

If you check JM60 Flexis demo board, you'll get the picture.

You can find these cheap&durty adapters in ebay.

I hope it helps,

Celso
