Dear Nic,

Your description is a bit vague!

Do you mean

1) that the device is not starting in ICP

 or

2) that you can't install the required drivers when it does?

For 1) check

Pull-downs on D+/- (done)

Check that D+ & D- aren't transposed! It is surprisingly easy to do.

Crystal osc is OK (using a cro if possible), check crystal, caps & resistor.

100nF (or 470nF advice varies!) on reset pin - seems to help with the POR

Filter caps on Vreg

Device is blank - ICP is only automatic on a blank device.

For 2)

Are you prompted for a driver when first plugging in?

Check in the hardware manager under windows for the device. If it doesn't appear at all then it's probably a hardware problem.

If it appears as a unknown device check the properties. It should be reported under "Device Instance Id" as

USB\VID_0425&PID_FF02\5&12D03F87&0&1
If so, then the device is being recognized correctly and it's a driver problem. Right-click on the device and re-install the driver from that supplied with the AN2399SW.

Not much else to check - It has worked reliably for me under windows-XP SP1, 2 & 3.

hope this helps.

bye

Message Edited by pgo on 2009-09-21 11:24 AM
