In fact, this is my first post. I have to design a device... But, when I want to choose a uC, I dont find one with all I want. What I want in the uC is:&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;* Internal Oscillator&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;* CAN, ADC, USB, LIN no needed.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;* Timer with 4 channels&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;* I2C, SPI, SCI needed.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;* Flash size bigger than 16k&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;* VCC = 5V&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;* PDIP or SDIP Packaged&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Is there one uC with all this ??&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Thanks a lot.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;Hello and welcome to the fora, Pablovich,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It seems the MC9S08GT32CB fits the bill on all counts, bar the 5 volts. This is perhaps the easiest thing to workaround though.&lt;BR /&gt;CPU's/MPU's that run on 5 volts and IC's packaged in DIP are all going the way of serial ports, 5 1/4" (3 1/2") floppies.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;Hi kef,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;GT doesn't have USB either!&lt;BR /&gt;I took it that all four things on that line where no (sic) needed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Given I posted when the OP was online and my post is now rated 5 I think I may have assumed correctly.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The GT is fairly unique in having a SDIP package for a MPU of this "size".&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

Some parts stay in this status for years.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

I told you that because of DIP/SDIP requirement. &lt;BR /&gt;+16K is something normally related to higher pin count and in FS world it means SMT.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I suggest you could question your requirements. Does any S08 come in DIP Package ???&amp;nbsp;I know if I think in VDD = 5V and DIP package, I'm a old design's dinosaur !!! You didn't confuse it with the HC08 GT did you?&lt;BR /&gt;The main distinguishing feature between the two families is the debug/programming interface.&lt;BR /&gt;The HC08 has the horrible MON08&lt;BR /&gt;and the S08 has the far superior BDM&lt;BR /&gt;Once you have used the BDM interface it is very difficult to go back to the old MON08.&lt;BR /&gt;Of course the whole core is different and a bit faster but this is fairly insignificant.&lt;BR /&gt;S08 is generally cheaper as well!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;Peg is 100% right, after you work with S08 you don't wanna get back to HC08. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've never worked with the S08GT, but I've noticed there's a die shrink version, the MC9S08GT32ACB, wich is a good sign.       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;Hello again Pablo,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The interface hardware required for the BDM is much more complicated than for MON08.&lt;BR /&gt;You need to buy a USB Multilink USB-ML-12 from Freescale or &lt;A href="http://www.pemicro.com/products/product_viewDetails.cfm?product_id=33&amp;amp;CFID=2595763&amp;amp;CFTOKEN=24267187" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"&gt;P&amp;amp;E micro&lt;/A&gt; direct or you can make a similar thing by following the information in &lt;A href="http://forums.freescale.com/freescale/board?board.id=OSBDM08" target="_blank"&gt;this forum&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;You then need software for your PC.&lt;BR /&gt;The easiest way here is to get Codewarrior V6.2 from this site.
