Hello,

thanks for your reply. The "7" means that it is an EPROM version of the controller,
so its needed :smileyhappy: I have found lots of information, but no real information about how
to program or read this controller. Somewhere was an old application note AN852
mentioned, but I didn't find it. Also, the AN1009 and AN1011 would be helpful, but
I can't find them on the net.

Its hard to find information for old devices...

Mike

I feel like a dinossaurus from stone age, but I remember these parts.
I think they were one of the first of the 6805 CMOS generation.

Normally these parts programmed themselves, they had a boot rom wich was activated by high voltage (9V) in a pin, some used a CD4040 to generate address, all controlled by the 6805.
Of course, you had to provide high voltage externally.

Unfortunately I put the old moto stuff in garbage can recently.
But if I could find one of these old stuff, I'll send it to you.

Cheers,

Celso

Hello Celso,

I understand what you mean. Its really old stuff I am looking for. I
already know that those devices could be monitored somehow.

The "normal" G" ( 705G2S ) can be read easily and also programmed.
Reading is done by verification of the contents ( detect A0 and CE, force
reset, present data, as an endless loop, and takes long. I have programmed
such a G2S with an external EPROM and I could get out the contents
within one week - dont laugh, it really took so long.). The EPROM file
was identical to the verified dump.

The problem is, that the G2L1 type cant go into verifying mode by grounding
VPP and switching -12V to IRQ, like the G2S.

The G2L1 is similiar to some SC and ZC commercial types, which also
cant be read out. They also dont want to go into verify mode. The software
works correct....

Michael
