Software compare only in SH4/8 Is it possible?

I want to know if the SH series can use "software compare only" although not listed in the reference manual, i.e. MSxB Setting Up: MSxA -> 0:1 and ELSxB: ELSxA -> 0:0.

In the QG series this option is available, and years ago I used the QY series which in the first edition of the reference manual did not include this option and then included in future releases.
I programmed the microprocessor to date of manufacture old and worked wonders. I mean?

The settings that you describe should provide software only output compare. This would seem to be an omission from the datasheet.
