      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Hi Shigoto,&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;It's not precised, but I guess you want to know the precision of the clock of the msCAN module for your High Speed CAN transmission.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;You have several possibilities depending on how you clock the module itself.&lt;BR /&gt;First you need to know that there is a &lt;STRONG&gt;divider by two&lt;/STRONG&gt; between the reference clock and the bus clock.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;It means that when you use a 16MHz crystal, you will get an 8MHz bus by default.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;If, from an 16MHz crystal you want a 16MHz bus, you need to configure the PLL.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Now, you can either clock the msCAN module to use the reference clock or the bus clock:&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV style="margin-left: 2em"&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;If you use a crystal direct to clock the msCAN module, the jitter on the CAN transmission will be linked to the precision of the crystal and the MCU will actually improve the jitter as you will divide the crystal clock to get the CAN rate.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;If you use the&amp;nbsp;bus clock and&amp;nbsp;use the PLL, you need to know that PLL introduced jitter.
