Can somone tell me the exact difference between the 9sdp256 and 9sdt256. Are they interchanable?

They both have the same datasheet. What should I search for in the datasheet?

Is there any cross reference chart avaliable ?

Thanks helping.

Untel.

You should search in the datasheet for derivative differencies. DP has 5 MSCAN modules and J1850/BDLC. DT - 3 MSCAN's (CAN0, CAN1, CAN4) and no J1850/BDLC.

Also, early versions of DP256 which can be found on evaluation boards are full of nasty silicon bugs. If you buy an evaluation board with a DP256 on it, make sure to replace the chip with the most up-to-date mask set and read all erratas carefully.

If you plan to use DT256 in production, you may as well put that chip on instead, they are pin compatible.

Nope, the silicon bugs are related to behavior of peripherals. As far as I know, even the earliest DP256 went through quite tough automotive qualifications EMI- and ESD-wise. It sounds very much like a board design problem to me.

However, let us not hi-jack this post for that discussion.
