Hey guys,

I have a special motor control application that I'm trying to find a solution to. I was hoping freescale might have something that would help me out. I am on a competition team at my college called SuperMileage that builds high mileage cars and competes around the US. Myself and a team of engineers are working on developing a high efficiency hybrid electric drivetrain. We are employing a regenerative braking scheme and have not been able to find any controllers that can do this without hall-effect sensors. I'm fairly sure that this restriction limits us to a controller that is operating with FOC. Does freescale make a motor controller capable of 4 quadrant operation, or does anyone have any ideas as to where to get one.

Car Peak voltage 50V

Required Regen Power - 750W
