Help it_keyboard - MC9S12E128

Hi, I have the hcs12 design kit of motorola, I use mc9s12e128 board and I'm trying to do a program in assembly that will allow me to introduce a value through the it_keyboard i store after this data in a variable. I do not know how to connect it_keyboard at a port of entry, and where that value is stored introduced with it_keyboard. Sorry for my bad english, i'm spanish. Thanks in advance. Cesar Ortiz.

"hcs12 design kit" ? What is the part number of the board you have?

It should be printed some where on the board.

Is the freescale part number INDARTHCS12E128?

Because there is virtually no information on the web site concerning this board, nor can I find it on SofTecs web site.

To answer you question specifically, I need more information.
Is the keyboard already connected? If so to what ports.

Here is a thread that discusses keyboard scanning, and there is a link to some sample code that may help you.

Here is another old document that show how you might connect it and talk to a keypad.
Page 198 shows the hook up the rest of the chapter discusses how to scan it.

I am not sure what you mean with "it_keyboard". Is it possible that you mean "AT keyboard" as used by PCs? If so, the solution will be very different than the scanning of a keypad. You will need to clarify.

Yes, the part number InDART-HCS12/E128, the keyboard is not connected, it_keyboard is an aplication of CodeWarrior that simulates a matrix keyboard 4x5
