    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Hello,&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Could the Xgate do long multiplication?&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;For example i have : int var, Long result&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;I want to do result=var*var&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Is the xgate is able to do that because i saw that it could only do "basic operation".&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;If it could do it, is it&amp;nbsp;faster to do this operation with xgate or hcs12 core?&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Thank you&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Regards&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Hello Calou,&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;I strongly&amp;nbsp;recommended to use the CPU12X core to do all multiplication and NOT the XGATE.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;The XGATE is not an appropriate choice for long multiplication.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Cheers,&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Alban.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;As Alban said the CPU is a better choice for multiplication (and division), however, the XGATE can do it using C libraries so it is an option when appropriate. &lt;A href="http://www.freescale.com/files/microcontrollers/doc/app_note/AN3289.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"&gt;AN3289&lt;/A&gt; has a simple example in section 9 that shows the strengths of the two cores when some division is involved.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
