HCS12 Series : Cyclone Pro Error During Programming

While flashing the program using Cyclone Pro and PC utility called “PROG12Z_CYCLONEPRO Programmer”

Step 1: Reset / Connect (Enter BDM mode)

Step 2: Erase DFlash

Step 3: Erase PFlash

Step 4: Program the (BL + APP combined) .s19 file

Here during Step 4, While the program is getting flashed, if there is some error (sometimes due to loose connection/handhold), and programming halted, then there is NO further communication is possible with the ECU. ECU is unusable thereafter.

If I try to execute Step 1. Then it throws an error: “Can not enter background mode”.

Appreciate any suggestions / solution

Hello,

Since you use PE Micro programmer and Cyclone PRO, I would recommend contacting PE Micro support.
They should provide more information about the error message.

Have you tried the PE Micro UNSECURE12 utility?
