Our flash cotent is not sufficient, Can the Dflash used as code flash?

Our project has some picture, and our customer want us add more, but our flash rom was not sufficient, so I wander is it possible to put some picture or function in the data flash.But when I test putted a const data in the dflash and compile, the data was not in the target file, when I putted the data in the p-flash , it was correct! Is it the compilled restrict this or dflash can't excute fucntion?
