The KIT33812ECUEVME uses our MC33812 chip, which is intended for “Single or Dual” Cylinder (4 Stroke or 2 stroke) engines. It drives two Injectors independently, but drives only “One” Coil. Hence, technically both Spark Plugs for the Dual Cylinders will fire at the same time, with one wasted spark. This chip does not have VRS on board.

The next version is our MC33813, which is similar to MC33812 but intended for “Single” Cylinder with VRS on-board. Hence, reduces the need for an external VRS chip and technically reduces the size of the PCB.

Furthermore, we have MC33814, which is very much the same as MC33813. However, it supports up to TWO Cylinder (4 Stroke or 2 Stroke) with “independent” support for Two Injectors and Two Coil along with VRS on-board.

So, you could use either MC33812 or MC33814 depending on your specific needs. The datasheets are below:

http://cache.freescale.com/files/analog/doc/data_sheet/MC33812.pdf

http://cache.freescale.com/files/analog/doc/data_sheet/MC33814.pdf

Best Regards,

Ivan

FYI,

all of our Small Engine chips (MC33812, MC33813 and MC33814) have a MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) sensor input. User can use that information to detect which cycle it is on. That is the pressure would be different on intake/compression stroke versus power/exhaust stroke. Hence, if taking advantage of that, then user would be able to avoid wasted spark.

Hope this helps.
