Hello, We use the MPXH6115A6U with a sealed pressure port and experience a slow rising pressure over several minutes. When the port is left open, the pressure stays constant. How can this be explained?

Hello,

Please make sure your enclosure is hermetically sealed from the environment. As the MPXH6115A6U device is an absolute pressure sensor, any leakage from the outside, will modify the output of the device.

Besides, I recommend applying an Auto-zero procedure.

Auto-zero is a compensation technique based on sampling the offset of the sensor at reference pressure (atmospheric pressure is a zero reference for a gauge measurement) in order to correct the sensor output for long-term offset drift or variation.

Please review the application note below in order to get more information:

Implementing Auto-Zero for Integrated Pressure Sensors

I hope this information helps.

Regards,

David
