NXP has announced MCUXpresso replaces KDS.
However, this web page shows support only for K2x (under Supported Devices):

When will MCUXpresso support K64F?
Dave,

Hi Dave,
it does support the K64F, and in fact supports all the devices supported by the SDK V2.x.
The list you can see if you go to Welcome to MCUXpresso | MCUXpresso Config Tools
Create the SDK for your device of choice, and then have it added to the IDE ( Video Link : 7489 ).
I hope this helps,
Erich
So the list of supported devices on the above web page is incomplete?
you mean this page of devices?
MCUXpresso IDE is derived from LPCXpresso. LPC devices are supported natively, but there is no Kinetis device preinstalled in MCUXpresso.
However all the Kinetis SDK2.x supported device can be installed to MCUXpresso. Thus MCUXpresso can work with Kinetis with SDK2.x.
Have a great day,
Jennie Zhang
