Using MFG TOOLS with i.MX 6UltraLite EVK board

Hello,

We design SOMDIM board based on i.MX6UltraLite.

We populate NAND region as described on How-To use NAND boot on i.MX6UL EVK board .

I'm using L4.1.15_2.0.0-ga mfg-tools.tar but I can't identify where I need to change to burn the Nand Memory.
I tried to change "cfg.ini" but the program got errors. See below:

"Boot" body="BootStrap" error, file="C:\L4.1.15_2.0.0-ga_mfg-tools.tar\L4.1.15_2.0.0-ga_mfg-tools\mfgtools-with-rootfs\mfgtools\Profiles\Linux\OS Firmware\firmware\u-boot-imx6ul14x14ddr3arm2_emmc.imx"

"Boot" body="BootStrap" error, file="C:\L4.1.15_2.0.0-ga_mfg-tools.tar\L4.1.15_2.0.0-ga_mfg-tools\mfgtools-with-rootfs\mfgtools\Profiles\Linux\OS Firmware\firmware\u-boot-imx6ul14x14ddr3arm2_sd.imx"

Previously I used  an sd card with an linux image to test all the other peripherals and the board is work perfectly.

I need to test the Nand interface to finish my job.

See attached my board's image

Does anybody can help me?

Hi Igor,

I rebuilt the Yocto image and teste an image for SD card and it seems ok.

Now, we would like to use the generated files on MFGTOOLS.

We found u-boot.img file but I didn't found u-boot.imx. What I need to do to generate u-boot.imx?

Could you tell me more about that?

Hi Bruno

except building uboot for L4.1.15_2.0.0 (this is uboot-imx-imx_v2016.03_4.1.15_2.0.0_ga)

as described in step 1 mentioned link, it is necessary to rebuild linux, including gpmi driver, refer to

Chapter 33 NAND GPMI Flash Driver attached Linux Manual. Rebuild Mfg Tools firmware,

refer to sect.6.2 Manufacturing Tool, MFGTool Yocto Guide. New files replace in mfg tools ..OS Firmware/firmware folder.

When booting, use "mtdparts" kernel command parameter as described in Release Notes, Linux Guide.

No need to to change "cfg.ini", as clicking on *.vbs script mfg tool starts and automatically takes necessary parameters from script.

Best regards
igor

Hi Igor,

Thank you for your explanation.

Now I'm using MFGTOOLS using "mfgtool2-yocto-mx-evk-nand.vbs".

I don't know what is wrong now. See below.
