We suggest to use Ubuntu for iMX6 Linux development, and the documents are also based on Ubuntu.

what do you mean by Linux SDK? Are you planing to develop apps for Android or LInux? i.Mx6 and I.mx6?

I want to develop / bringup Linux on custom board based on imx6.
so , I want to install the sdk or the relevant environment for build/compile etc .
my host machine is fedora.

As you may know, we are moving towards Yocto, so with it you can use most Linux distributions, including Fedora. With Yocto, you can install the toolchain and start generating binaries for your desired platform. For my point of point, it does not matter much the Linux Distribution, what it matters are the tools you are used to, so if those run fine in fedora, so you have the right setup.
