How can FXOS8700CQ measure negative acceleration?

      Hello, I'm trying to use the sensor FXOS8700CQ in a development board FRDM-K66F to measure acceleration. Now I activate accelerometers in x-axis and y-axis, but the output of the program could only be positive numbers when I accecelerate it in any direction. Is there any way to initialing the program to enable the accelerometer obtain negative measurement when it is accelerated in opposite direction?

There should be no problem to measure both positive and negative acceleration. Have a look at my example code available here.
