FXOS8700CQ Shock and Vibration Threshold

I was wondering if anyone knew how much shock the FXOS8700CQ can take. My company is considering mounting it on the front of a forklift, where it would experience frequent vibration and mechanical shock.

I see on the datasheet that the drop height threshold is 1.8 m, but no numbers on shock or vibration. Does anyone know what they are? Do other people use the FXOS8700CQ for similar applications (on construction vehicles for instance)?

Thanks!

Hi Brian,

We have had other customers use the device in industrial applications, but to my knowledge never on a forklift.

Mechanical shock is always a potential issue for any MEMS sensor, and suitability depends heavily on the use case.

Can you provide any further details, such as a mission profile? Things like the max expected shock level, duration, frequency content, etc... If you'd like we can discuss in more detail via email or a phone call.

Best regards,

Marc
