To provide your WiFi access point credentials from the Linux command line, one can provide WiFi credential in /var/netinfo.txt file. The 1st line should be SSID name and 2nd line should have the SSID Password. Suppose your WiFi Ap SSID name is "test" and its password is "ABCD1234" then  netinfo.txt file content should be as below

# cat /var/netinfo.txt

test

ABCD1234

Steps

  1. Add WiFi credential in /var/netinfo.txt file
  2. Now execute "controlSTA" script provided in /etc/init.d/ folder.

    # /etc/init.d/controlSTA  restart

Note:

This procedure is supported via the controlSTA application that is part of the NMG OOBE demo layer.  If you are not using this demo layer, the above commands will not work.  Also, we recommend you use the Android application and the NFC tap feature described within the "Modular Gateway Out of Box Demo Setup Guide", MGOOBDSUG.pdf to inject these credentials.

Additionally, for IDEX1.1 and above, the path "/var/netinfo.txt" changes to "/media/userdata/gw_config/netinfo.txt"
