This demo shows a use case of the LS1021 IoT Gateway along with a KW24-powered sensor to monitor the level of CO2 in a remote location such as a room in a building, and run an exhaust fan whose speed is related to the CO2 level. The CO2 level may be monitored from the Cloud.




  • Small footprint platform with a wide variety of high-speed connectivity and low-speed serial interfaces through the use of the ARM-based QorIQ LS1021A embedded processor
  • Uses Node-Red open source software for control, providing secure IOT service delivery, management framework, and flexible IoT Node GUI control
  • ARM-Cortex M0+ powered Kinetis KL-25Z microcontroller-enabled Avnet WiGo boards running NXP-developed demo on ARM-MBED operating system enable secure, low-power sensor and fan nodes
  • COZIRTM CO2 sensor from NXP Partner, Gas Sensing Solutions
  • MMA8451Q, 3-Axis, 14-bit/8-bit Digital Accelerometer enables alternative fan speed control by sensor orientation
  • Optional fan control via Touch slider or ambient light sensor
