The demo shows an automotive door handle design combining NFC, proximity and touch sensing within one PCB. The NFC, proximity and touch sensing events are displayed with RGB LED colors. Furthermore, a smart phone demo application shows NFC functionalities.

When approaching to the door handle, the user’s presence is detected by the door handle’s proximity or touch sensing capabilities. The user authentication is achieved via NFC. Once a NFC enabled device (e.g. smart phone, wearable, smart card) is detected, the NFC controller handles access rights of the user.
