This interactive Internet of Things (IoT) demo shows how an existing product, such as an elevator, can be retrofitted with ESL’s EventMan Access Point (EMap™) to provide secure cloud connectivity.

The EMap™ is a local gateway and data concentrator that relays encrypted data to / from ESL’s EventMan Cloud™ platform. This allows IoT devices to be commissioned via NFC, monitored and controlled remotely for diagnostic and preventative maintenance purposes.

The EventMan Cloud™ platform is an extension of ESL’s existing workflow engine which has been tailored for the IoT market and leverages ESL’s banking security pedigree. NXP’s advanced line of secure microcontrollers allows us to extend this level of security right down to the silicon level. True random number generation and hardware accelerated encryption allows the EMap to use state-of-the-art security protocols to protect its data.


When combined with NXP’s A7001 secure element the EMap™ is protected from local tampering, probe attacks and rogue devices.


The EMap™ can also be extended with additional transceivers such as NXP’s JN516x ZigBee Wireless Microcontroller, or the QN902x Bluetooth Low Energy system-on-chip solution. This allows the EMap™ to oversee several local devices whilst maintaining a single secure connection to the cloud.
