This demo shows the measurement capabilities of the MC33771 14-cell battery cell controller. 

The MC33771 EVB monitors the voltage and current of a battery stack composed of 14 cells connected in series, as well as measuring the temperature of the Battery Cell Controller IC and the PCB.

Value Propositions

Cell voltage measurement accuracy can be as low as +/-2mV : look at bottom right chart, where the auto-scaled window is always smaller than 4mV Configurable between 7 to 14 cells 

Simultaneous current and voltage measurement

SPI or Isolated 2.0 Mbps differential communication, can be daisy-chained up to 15 devices (up to 900V)

Integrated 300 mA passive cell balancing with diagnostics

ISO26262 Single chip ASIL-C capable: full detection of internal and external faults
