Wireless infrastructure OEM's continue to demand improved RF performance, wider bandwidth capability and the highest efficiency possible. Freescale's Airfast Digital Front-End (DFE) Processor meets these demands for everything from macrocell down to picocell base station applications. This digital pre-distortion (DPD) microprocessor adapts in real time to linearize most combinations of signals (2G through 5G) on most types of power amplifiers (Class AB, Doherty, Envelope Tracking, Class D) on common power amplifier transistor technologies (LDMOS, GaN or GaAs). The class will explore the capabilities of the Airfast Digital Front End Processor and show the significant improvements this device will enable for next-generation wireless infrastructure solutions.
