This session introduces the evolution of Linux distribution technology on i.MX platforms, including LTIB, system builder and Yocto Project. Then, it focuses on the mechanism of Yocto itself from two views: how the Freescale Linux SDK is built based on Yocto and how Freescale customers can customize their own products with the Linux SDK. It summarizes the main components of Yocto and content of the Yocto-based SDK. Learn to install Yocto, configure the kernel and other environment variables, and create, load and run the binaries. This talk will also present the steps necessary to set up the environment, customize U-Boot, kernel and root file system and build the images. Participants will be able to build a simple Linux app and run it on the i.MX6 SABRE-SDB board.
